Signing in

Every Tracovy organisation has its own web address, and you sign in there. This page covers signing in, resetting a password you have forgotten, and signing up for a brand-new organisation.

Where to find it: your workspace address followed by /login, for example acme.tracovy.com/login. Who can use it: anyone with a user account in the workspace. Accounts are created by an administrator in Settings > Users.

Your organisation’s address is a subdomain: the part before the main Tracovy domain. If your subdomain is acme, your team signs in at acme.tracovy.com.

  • Your account only exists in your own workspace. The same email and password will not work on another organisation’s address.
  • If you do not know your address, ask your administrator. It was chosen when the organisation signed up and is shown on the “Check your email” page after signup.
  • Your customers use the same address with /portal on the end - see Customer portal.
Field What it means Required Why it matters
Email The email address on your user account. Yes, a valid email It identifies you within this workspace only.
Password Your password. Use the eye icon to show what you typed. Yes Checked against your account in this workspace.
Authentication code Appears only after your first Sign in if your account has two-factor authentication switched on. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app, or one of your recovery codes. Yes, when shown Without it, someone who knows your password still cannot get in. A recovery code works once only.
Action What it does
Sign in Checks your email and password. If two-factor authentication is on, the Authentication code field appears and the button changes to Verify code.
Verify code Checks your authentication code and signs you in.
Forgot? Opens the password reset page.
Start an organization Opens the signup page for a new Tracovy organisation. Not needed to join an existing workspace - ask your administrator for an account instead.

After signing in you land on the Dashboard, or on the page you were trying to open before you were asked to sign in.

If the email or password is wrong you see “Email or password didn’t match.” The message is the same whichever of the two is wrong, on purpose.

Message What it means
Password updated - sign in with your new password. Your password reset worked.
Email verified - sign in to enter your workspace. You clicked the link in your signup email and the workspace is ready.
Email verified, but your workspace isn’t active yet - complete payment to finish setup. The organisation was created but payment has not gone through.
That verification link has expired. Sign in to request a new one, or sign up again if you never finished.

Where to find it: the Forgot? link on the sign-in page.

Field What it means Required Why it matters
Email The email you sign in with. Yes, a valid email If it belongs to an account on this workspace, a reset link is sent to it.
Action What it does

Back to sign in Returns to the sign-in page.

The reset link expires after 60 minutes and works once. If you ask for several links, only the most recent one works.

Where to find it: the link in the reset email.

New password Your new password. Yes, at least 8 characters Replaces your old password straight away.

Sign in For people who already have an organisation.

After payment you see Check your email. Click the link in that email to verify your address; the page also shows your new workspace address. The link is valid for 24 hours. While the workspace is being prepared you may see a Setting up your organization screen; it usually finishes in under a minute.

If you cancel payment, you return to the signup page with “Payment was cancelled. Your workspace is held for 24 hours - re-submit to retry.”

  • “Email or password didn’t match” when you are sure they are right usually means you are on the wrong workspace address. Check the subdomain in your browser’s address bar.
  • Reset emails can land in spam. Look there before asking for another link - each new link cancels the last.
  • Keep your two-factor recovery codes somewhere safe. They are the only way in if you lose your phone. See Your profile.
